Borghetto di Vara is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of La Spezia in the Italian region Liguria, located about southeast of Genoa and about northwest of La Spezia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 998 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Borghetto di Vara contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Boccapignone, Cassana, L'Ago, Pogliasca, Ripalta, and Termine di Roverano.
